Just watched that on the TV... Fantastic... So atmospheric and really captures QE2 of that era, and shows how degraded the experience is now, in my view.

Amazing thing is the speed of the sea rushing past in the lots of the scenes, during the 5 day crossing

Looks like it was made during the summer months, and even narrow it down to July, August, September   simply because he mentions the video of passengers meeting the Captain, that didnt last long at all, It was a very new thing when l travelled in the August of that year. Interesting to see the cruise staff Colin Parker and Roger Tookey  at the gaming tables, and l spotted my dear waiter ,Princess , doing what he does best .  Some careful editing of promotional footage , but all in all a very good presentation.

Indeed thats what l always found with the Five days, you were tramping along, when they introduced the Six days crossings l was  more aware you had a slower sensation of speed onboard As for the longer crossings of 7 or 8 days, lm sure you could feel you could walk faster .
From the moment you first glimpsed the Queen,
you just knew you were in for a very special time ahead.!
