QE2 Get Togethers on board other Cunarders

Very hopefully, there will be a Gathering on board QE to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of the Maiden Voyage of QE2. This time, on board Queen Elizabeth as she makes several maiden calls between Yokohama and Vancouver in Canada via Anchorage in the USA

Hey Myles -
Unlike many, I won't be around for Cunard's 200th,
however after the new one, Cunard's next ship will be their 200th vessel.
I had already begun to think about the Celebrations we could muster for
What we could hopefully celebrate too, will be the publication of fantastic book about
The QE2 Story by its Author(s)

When onboard QM2 in March for a fabulous cruise from Hong Kong to Dubai I was pleased to attend a get together for past QE2 passengers and crew.  Although it was a small event the organiser William Hendrie told me that a similar gathering on a previous sector had been a bigger gathering, which is just down to how many ex QE2 passengers are onboard at the time.

It was fantastic to spend time listening to people's memories of QE2 and hearing their stories.  William (Bill) Hendrie had sailed on QE2 since the 1970's and had tabled some menus and a newspaper article.  A woman from USA, who is now in her nineties remembered dancing the night away in the Queen's Room.  I think she said the Johnny Dankworth orchestra was onboard, but I am willing to be corrected on that one. 

The hour passed so quickly and it was time to go with some happy QE2 memories relived.

I shall be aboard QM2 transatlantic crossing Southampton to New York between 14 April to 21 April 2019 and back again New York to Southampton between 05 May and 12 May 2019 .... I was wondering if there might be any other QE2 enthusiasts aboard

16 April 2019 will be a special day as it will mark the 15th anniversary of QM2s first transatlantic crossing on 16 April 2004

Only sorry that I shall miss the 50th anniversary of QE2 Maiden Voyage event on 04 May 2019 ...the 50th event for the launch of the QE2 was really enjoyable
