Poll October 2021 : QE2 at Night
« on: Oct 30, 2021, 03:02 PM »
The theme for the October Competition, "QE2 at Night" was chosen by Hamburger, the winner of the June competition.

Please vote for your three favourite photos. This is the second competition of the new "calendar" year, with winning and runner-up photos going towards the 2023 QE2 Story Calendar.

The prize this month is the book, "Cruising on the Queen Elizabeth 2 - Around the World in 91 Days" by Bernard Patten and donated by Richard Wade. As an alternative prize, the winning photo can be made into a 500 or 1000 piece jigsaw puzzle.

Voting is easy, but you need to be registered as a Forum member and log into the Forum to vote.  Whether or not you have submitted photos, please support those who have participated, by choosing your 3 favourite ones, noting the details, then tick the relevant boxes on the poll.  If you have entered photos, please do not vote for your own pictures.

To make it easier for you, we have posted the pictures below.

However, you might like to turn to the Gallery Album, "QE2 at Night", where you can see them all at once, in thumbnail form. Plus you can view larger versions of the pictures by clicking on the photos to see medium size, and clicking once more to see them in large size.

You will not see the results of the vote until the poll has closed on 1 December 2021, after all time zones have had a chance to catch up with the voting deadline.

Enjoy the variety and the tender feelings expressed in these photos and choose your favourites :) .

Yes.... very difficult choice... I've managed to select three, though.  Somehow.

Thanks for the reminder June.  So many beautiful photos and there are a few photos currently in first place, so lots more votes would be good.

I didn't vote for it but the photo entitled "Safety Door" caught my eye this morning.  I love the way QE2's stairways are a bit "hidden".

On QE2, one pretty much had to know where to turn inboard from the main passageways on the stateroom decks even though there are the stairway signs to assist. Modern cruise ships' stairways are either centerpieces or prominently in view as you walk along the decks (a great safety feature).

One of the biggest challenges is Stairway D on 4 and 5 Deck.  Thankfully passengers never had to escape from their cabins in a dark, disorienting environment!
