We are heading to Norway now, dining in the Princess Grill, where our friendly waiters Maurice and Wilder are already awaiting us.

Enjoy the menu choices!

My very first dinner menu on QE2 and the start of a very special relationship!

I cannot remember what I ate during any of my voyages on QE2. I do remember that I had a great preference for fish on the one hand, and vegetarian curries on the other. We only discovered the existence of vegetarian menus some years later...

So here goes :

-- Smoked trout with mini baked potatoes
-- Indian vegetable curry
-- New York cheesecake with marinated strawberries

... followed by "regular coffee" and petits fours (it took us a few years to discover that we could ask for an espresso or cappuccino...)

I always loved cruising to Norway, so will look forward to looking at your pictures later.

I will have a platter of fruit for a starter then the Vegetable Curry, the same as Isabelle for the main and the New York Cheesecake for dessert - I have also asked for a scope of vanilla ice cream.

Coffee and chocolate treats to finish.

Today, I seem to have the luncheon and the dinner desserts... not sure what happened to the main dinner menu!

So, let us combine in whatever way it suits us -- if we have any special wishes, Maurice is bound to be able to help :) .

I would like to have :

-- the Asian style tofu salad
-- the monkfish fillet
-- the raspberry tiramisu

Looking forward to the Chief Engineer's company (we were actually at the Chief Engineer's table during this cruise!), the drop of good wine, the animated conversation and the coffee and sweets. Today, I might go for the chocolate ginger sticks :) .

Lots to choose from on the menu and having two dessert menus is a treat.

Starter: Minestrone soup
Main: Asian Tofu Salad
Dessert: Strawberries in brandy baskets with vanilla ice cream

Looking forward to our chief engineer's choice of wine  this evening.

Coffee to finish

A wonderful lunch!

-- cured salmon and avocado tartar with sour cream
-- traditional eggs Benedict
-- lemon meringue pie

... which needs to be followed by a book and a nap, I think!

And for dinner :

-- gravlaks with Pumpernickel bread
-- wild rice and plum tomato risotto
-- mango and lime sorbet

And the usual coffee (cappuccino please if possible) and petits fours.

Looking forward to great conversation with the dinner companions and the host.

I agree Isabelle the lunch menu is very tempting.

I had the vegetable salad with mozzarella and some crusty bread
Lemon meringue pie with vanilla ice cream

and this evening I will go with the Italian choices
Tuscany bean soup
Italian Pasta with tomato sauce and mushrooms
Assorted cheeses with fruit and coffee to finish

Our wine waiter has selected a rather nice Italian wine for our table.

For lunch today, please :

-- buffalo mozzarella wrapped in grilled eggplant
-- cassis sorbet

... with a glass of draft beer.

For dinner, please :

-- grilled vegetables with Mediterranean seafood
-- baked Norwegian salmon
-- and the cheese board

I loved the freshly baked bread rolls with salted butter!

The wine waiter's choice of wine for us last night was excellent. It was good to see the Chief Engineer pass by and wish us happy dining before he returned to his duties again... looking forward to seeing him for a meal another night!
