The theme for the May Competition, "Drills" was chosen by Cunarder Man the winner of the January 2021 competition.

Thank you to everyone who submitted pictures, which we really appreciate. We hope that you enjoy choosing and voting for your 3 favourites.  This is the eighth competition of the new "calendar" year, with winning and runner-up photos going towards the 2022 QE2 Story Calendar.

There is a choice of prizes of either the book C6 by Dr Nigel Roberts, from Commodore Warwick's Private Library ( a label in the inside page verifies).

Or a jigsaw of the prizewinning picture . This option may not be available during periods of Covid restrictions. also offered by June Ingram.

Forum members should note that photos entered must be your own,  if not, please mention the name of the photographer for copyright reasons, and so that the owner can win the prize and be credited in the Calendar!

Voting is easy, but you need to be registered as a Forum member and log into the Forum to vote.  Whether or not you have submitted photos, please support those who have participated, by choosing your 3 favourite ones, noting the details, then tick the relevant boxes on the poll.  If you have entered photos, please do not vote for your own pictures.

To make it easier for you, we have posted the pictures below. However, you can also view the photos by clicking the Gallery Album, "Drills", where you can see them all at once, in thumbnail form, plus you can view larger versions of the pictures by clicking on the photos to see medium size, and clicking once more to see them in large size.

You will not see the results of the vote until the poll has closed on 1 July 2021, after all time zones have had a chance to catch up with the voting deadline.

Enjoy the variety in these photos and choose your favourites :) .

As always the choice is yours -- enjoy!

The voting is now open for the May competition.

We have not had a lot of entries for this month's competition, probably because most people did not take their camera to safety drills. However that makes these photos even more special as they are unique! We hope that a low number of entries translates into a high number of voters!

  • At Mach 2 three days after being on QE2...
*sigh*

Even with being able to vote for a whopping 25% of the entries it's still not easy...

Anything with QE2 in the frame is a difficult choice, it's just the framing that's so darned difficult  ::)

What an amazing situation right now!

We have 4 photos all in equal lead, with just over one day left.

Your vote may help to sort out this situation... please make that decisive choice  :) .
