February 2021 : QE2 at night
« on: Feb 03, 2021, 07:45 PM »
The theme for this month's photo competition is "QE2 at night", chosen by Thomas Hypher, the winner of the September 2020 competition.

Photos could be taken during QE2's service life, within the ship or from shoreside, in public rooms or in the cabins. There should be plenty of choice!

Enjoy the search :) .

The prize this month is  the book "Crossing the Bar" by Paul Lobo, donated by the author.

Alternatively, depending on circumstances due to Covid-19 restrictions, June Ingram may be able to offer a jigsaw of the prizewinning photograph.

How to enter

The album is open -- so now is the time to look for your three most interesting pictures on this theme. Wishing you happy memories as you search your photo collection to find up to three pictures to upload to the competition album.

Photos entered must be your own, or if not, please mention the name of the photographer for copyright reasons, and so that the owner can win the prize!

This link will take you straight there : QE2 at night.

If you have not uploaded photos to the Forum Gallery before, have a look at these instructions, and if you have any problems, just contact us on admin@theqe2story.com. You could even email the photos to this address, and we can upload them for you.

The deadline for submitting photos is 28 February 2021. Voting will run from 1 March 2021 until 1 April 2021, until everyone's time zone has caught up with the date.

We look forward to seeing your photos in this competition.

This is the fifth month of photos for the 2022 calendar. Maybe your photo will figure there!

Enjoy yourselves!  :)

Thanks for setting up the photo competition album, Isabelle.  I hope this theme will generate lots of photos.  I will have a look but I think I only have photos inside the ship but not from outside at night.

Is it just me being a retired sailor or did anyone else think of sailors departing this life, when they saw the book title?

I am pretty sure that is why he chose the title, a pun which an English-speaking sailor would understand :) .

QE2 at night, a good choice for this month's photo competition theme.  I need to look through my photos to see if I have any suitable pictures to enter.

Some amazing photos added to the competition. I don't think my photos can compete, but I will add a couple just to support the competition.

16 photos entered for this competition, and one more day (or possibly two) to find your pictures of QE2 at night. There must be lots more only waiting for you to enter them!

Looking forward to seeing your pictures of our ship looking just as beautiful at night (or even more so) as during the day. Go for it!

Had trouble finding anything suitable, but added a couple that fit the description!
