It is remarkable, Bob! It really feels like we are walking through a QE2 we never knew. You are doing something wonderful for us.

Here's another experiment using the Double Room (original decor).  Still missing a lot of detail but it certainly gives you a feel for how the room was in 1969.

Lots of memories of the original design that I can remember from when I saw around the ship in 1968 before she left John Brown's shipyard.
I was proud to be involved with planning QE2's 50 year conference in September 2017 in Clydebank

I spend too much time just wandering around in the model.  This software is amazing as it gives as realistic of a rendering as the level of detail (model + lighting effects) entered.- what you’ve seen so far is entry level quality.  If my system can handle it, I’ll start joining segments together (public rooms and stairways). At that point, if it works, you may not hear from me again since I’ll be forever wandering around the 1969 QE2! 🤣🤣🤣

Wonderful work, Bob ! It already is so realistic ! QE2 as built is my favorite of her incarnations.
QE2 - the ship for all of time, a ship of timeless beauty !

That is gorgeous! And very realistic. Thank you for allowing us to see what many of us never got the chance to see...

Thats incredible Bob, thanks for creating & sharing!  You really feel like you could be there.  Its a much more coherent design than how it ended up.
Passionate about QE2's service life for 40 years and creator of this website.  I have worked in IT for 28 years and created my personal QE2 website in 1994.

Absolutely fantastic Bob! I was lucky enough to witness this room in 1983 and walked down that great spiral aluminium staircase. I think the upper deck may have changed a bit by then.
Looking forward to more in. Due course. Many thanks 👍❤️

As I had the Double Room going, I decided to move aft and work on the Double Down Bar.  Here's the Sketchup model progress.  I will import this into Unreal Engine soon and work on some lighting and other rendering for a better feel for the space.

The software program you are using gives a remarkable good image of these areas of the ship.  I feel like I am there on QE2.
