Hi - I've fixed the photo - and removed all the other posts discussing not being able to open it!

The following section will be moved to a new post somewhere more suitable shortly :-

The forum supports a variety of the most popular image formats, but not .heic (which is a new thing, only on some Apple devices).  Despite working in IT for 25 years, I'd not heard of HEIC files until right now.

If you need to convert a HEIC file for the forum, you can use this site, which just worked for me :-
Site to convert heic to JPG

I will start the sky tomorrow, but it looks like I am faced with different shades of blue and no other detail OMG!
Peter your advice may be needed on how to proceed!

Actually, I think you may find the sky less challenging than the sea because you can go by the shapes of the pieces without the wave patterns distracting you.

Thanks to Rob for fixing the picture issue. :D

Refit complete

I am pleased to announce that the refit of "QE2 at Anchor" is complete.  Work was on hold last week as a result of work on an important forum's newsletter and some other life things that had to be attended to, but work resumed this week and the final piece was put into place yesterday evening.  I found the sky a bit challenging but perseverance paid off and overall I enjoyed working on the jigsaw.

I will take time to admire the finished result then pack it up ready to be returned to Pete.

I was proud to be involved with planning QE2's 50 year conference in September 2017 in Clydebank

Excellent work, Lynda! The QE2 refit has gone very well, and she is ready to sail again.

Just like yourself, with these jigsaws, I always start with the frame, then our beautiful ship, and then everything else -- and I am sure that in this case, I too would have left the sky to last. But she needs the sky, the wind and the rain, the sunrises and sunsets, the clouds and the fog. Memories...

Don't forget to fill in the log book when you send it back to Pete Cain...

End result looks excellent!

As an aside - the print on the wall behind you - I have the same one in my hall at home Lynda!

So Jim has departed for adventures ashore (look out the Rabbits), miss him so much, but , there's a jig saw to be done
the only stipulation is that it's back in Cheshire for December. I said I would do it last year & events as usual overtook me, so you have loads of time here to do it, & get it back..... so I can do a puzzle over Christmas, thank you..

I am trying to work out where each of the jigsaws are at present, so that they are :

-- either completed and sent to the next person requesting them, or
-- not completed and sent on to another person wishing to tackle them, or
-- sent back to the original owner.

As regards "QE2 at anchor" can we know where this is at present? Is it with Pete Cain (but without Jim...)?

I believe the original owner is June -- if no one else wants to give this jigsaw a try, could it please be sent back to June?

Please let us have an update here, so that we can keep track of this jigsaw. Thank you!

I am not the owner of QE2 at anchor. I think it may belong to Pete as a photo competition prize.

We can then conclude that Pete Cain is the owner (congratulations!), and he has confirmed that the jigsaw has already returned to his shipyard for some tender loving care. No further action required.
