I can send the picture to the editor of the Clydebank Post, I had suggested doing this at the slide show last year, but never got around to sending the picture. Thanks for the reminder Robert.

I have just checked whether there are any other pictures with clearly visible people on them, but there don't seem to be any. It would be great if someone could identify them! And another way of showing the readers of the Clydebank Post that we have not forgotten their greatest ship :) .

Thanks for check for other photos with people.  I have sent an email to Clydebank Post, copied to admin.  Hope they run a story with the picture of the two men.

Lynda. That would be great if the Clydebank Post ran a story with this photo. It will be good if the two workers can be identified

When is the next batch being posted?

I'm doing another lot tomorrow, I've been doing them before our zoom call in case anyone wanted to discuss them.

Interesting to see how small QE2's bulbous bow is compared to QM2. Reminds me of ss France (ss Norway) which had a similarly small bulb.

Guess it was the early days of this design.

That bow flair just stops me in my tracks. We've all seen the photos that prove it did its job during heavy weather too!!!
Well seeing Dr Payne used that same feature albeit on a larger scale for QM2!

A great set of photos, especially those two workers with the trigger release mechanism schematic beautifully painted on the steelwork behind them.

Thanks for posting.

Here's tonight's slides, in advance of our Zoom chat a bit later on.

As usual, we have to guess when exactly they're from, but I think November/December 1968.

We believe our man (who created the slides) worked for Tannoy, as there are a number of slides like the first two within the box.  The shot of the Upper Deck (?) shows her looking unfinished - but nearly finished.

Wonderful!
First sailed on QE2 in August 2003 aged 6 years old. Last sailed on QE2 in July 2008. Last saw the seagoing QE2 in person from the decks of QM2, on QE2's last Transatlantic crossing (Eastbound tandem) in October 2008. Visited QE2 in her new life, in Dubai, in January 2020 and August 2022.

Here are the rest of the "December 1968" slide set which are presumed to be taken in and around the Clyde

Here are this week's slide uploads to the gallery album.

The slides in the box were various types, so you could see when he'd got a set developed at the same time.  I believe these slides are from the December 20th 1968 to Jan 2nd 1969 Trial Voyage - more will be revealed of this trial voyage in subsequent uploads.

Some mysteries within the slides, as you'll see!
- What event was that in, presumably, the theatre?
- What is that space with all the clutter and why did he take a photo of it?
- Why does the Double Down room still have its wee sign up (for doing tours in Clydebank, I presume?)
- Who is the entertainer with the kids?

As always, here's the link to the full album

Brilliant photos that beg the question - who are the people?

This young man singing in the Double Down room is in several pictures - was he one of the entertainment team?
