My heart skipped a beat, when I held this slide up to the light and saw what it was of.

(sorry for the watermark).

Without completely "spilling the beans" I've decided to share thumbnails of each set of slides, which I'll start doing some time after our special launch event in may.

Tonight its the November 67 slides.  Two months after QE2 has launched, progress has been rapid.

Tomorrow will be June 68.

Awe - your spoiling the surprise

Even though lm not going , i seriously think you should wait till after the event before showing any more slides.
Let those who are keen to pay for the day out have first exclusive viewing. Ok maybe one or two teasers

You want to create a buzz about the event and slides, and while some mignt not appear interesting or any use, thats only in your view.

Quite what can or should happen after the event is another matter, l still like the idea of a calendar format but with no date section.
From the moment you first glimpsed the Queen,
you just knew you were in for a very special time ahead.!

Could it be that three of these pics are identical?

I'm inclined to agree with Myles, that these slides should be enjoyed at the planned Event first, before being shared (even in thumbnail) with the rest of us... we shall just have to wait and be patient.

But of course you could use a very small number to entice participants to the Event!

Another one for Rod attached - see anyone you recognise?

At anchor, April 69.
I'd think that the man in the cap on the top of the accommodation ladder is The Security Officer, or whatever the equivalent position was when QE2 first entered service. Looking closely at him he's no 'spring chicken' and, noting the medal ribbons he's wearing, almost certainly saw service in WW2, which when QE2 was first in service had only finished 25 years before, not as long as QE2 was in service!!
Someone, far better qualified than I, might possibly be able to put a name and actual rank to him, hopefully.

Today is Easter Sunday, so I will share a photo from the box of Slides from Easter, 1969, when QE2 was undergoing her second set of trials, which were successful - a huge relief after the disastrous first trials.

If you look closely, you can see Easter Egg boxes amongst the children.

Fabulous photo.  I wonder where all the children are now and what are their memories of being on QE2

Looking forward to seeing your presentation of the slides on 4 May in Glasgow   It will be a fantastic get together of like minded people celebrating QE2.

The slides have already been featured in the Clydebank Post, but today we have a feature in the Scotman newspaper, which is one of Scotland's biggest newspapers.  Quite a coup.
