Traditional look for public areas

As stated before from 1990 Cunard started to give the public areas on QE2 a more traditional look and here is the result of new carpets and curtains to the promenade outside the Theatre (starboard side) and the Theatre Bar following the 1992 refit.

Wow!

Is that the Theatre Bar in the bottom 2 photos?  How dramatically different to what went before, and what came afterwards!

Yes it is the Theatre Bar - I looked this version of the room. It was a good place to hang out and the chairs were comfy!

One of the things I loved about QE2 was her quirks -- specifically her ultra-modern 60s "bones" and the ever-present tension with her more traditional retro-fits.  But it seems that the 90s this was in FULL DISPLAY. I now understand completely what the need for project lifestyle was!
