Dr Nigel Roberts RIP
« on: Oct 31, 2016, 06:44 PM »
To those that know them Passenger Simon Wall passed away on Saturday.
And Dr Nigel Roberts (C-Six) passed away yesterday
I still treasure his inscription in his book C Six from 1988

May they both Rest in Peace and may the families take comfort from the memories they leave behind.

From the moment you first glimpsed the Queen,
you just knew you were in for a very special time ahead.!

Sad news indeed Myles.

I didn't know Simon Wall but do have some fond memories of Nigel Roberts, quite a character.

RIP

I never knew Nigel Roberts but almost felt I did as he came from my home town of Walsall. I also attended the same school (some years later). Sorry to hear of his passing.

Never had the pleasure of meeting Mr Wall, but fond memories of Nigel - sad news indeed.

My wife recalls the time a passenger approached him in one of the bars and asked him what she should do about her chronic diarrhoea.  Nigel immediately called over a wine waiter and requested a bottle of Cristal champagne.  The passenger remarked she didn't know that champagne was good for diarrhoea.  "It isn't", replied Nigel "the champagne cork is for you".

RIP

Outstanding diagnostician, raconteur and shipmate. Along with Jane Yelland was very good to the many of us who suffered the effects of the traumatic latter days of the Bremerhaven refit.
I'll remember his 'This is the tale of Sonia Snell, to whom an accident befell' etc.........

I too was sad to hear that; very much enjoyed his book C-Six. Do you have memories of him that you would like to share here, Louis?

We have been contacted by a nephew of Nigel Roberts, who found us through an internet search.

He informs us that the funeral will take place on 18 November. If there are any messages we would like to convey to the family on that occasion, it would be great to collect them here. I know how much a family treasures fond memories that others have of their relative who has passed away.
