Hello from k.sailaway

My apologies for not signing in here earlier. I recognise many of the names on this board and have had the pleasure of meeting some of you.

As a few of you may have read already, my QE2 connection goes right back to following the news of her build and launch, witnessing her sailing from Southampton on her maiden voyage in May 1969 and to first sailing on her in October 1970. My wife and I have enjoyed a 'half-world' aboard her and a number of other memorable voyages, including Round Britain last October. All have been a privilege and a wonderful memory. Our last sight of the ol' girl was in Dubai this March, and very lonely she looked too.  :-[

I look forward to learning of others' experiences and to sharing some more of mine. I should warn you that we enjoy sailing on the rest of the fleet too and have a booking on the new Queen Elizabeth. Will you still talk to me?  :D

Hello and welcome Keith and Lynn,

Lovely to 'meet up' with you again - even if it is in the virtual world and not in the Yacht Club somewhere between Norway and Iceland!  :'(
It seems you've made yourself at home already and started to share some of your thoughts and QE2 memories and I'm looking forward to hearing more.

Do not fear Keith; we are a friendly bunch when it comes to QE2 -  but I must warn you Captain Lightbody runs a very tight ship - we try to steer clear of mentioning 'the others' too much  :-X  ;)

Welcome Keith & Lynn and great to have you join us.

Nothing wrong with enjoying other ships, especially Cunarders but inevitable as it is to mention others at times, the prime focus is of course QE2, of which I'm sure you will have many memories to share with us all.

Hello and welcome to both of you :)

I should warn you that we enjoy sailing on the rest of the fleet too and have a booking on the new Queen Elizabeth. Will you still talk to me?  :D

My advice would be not to mention the cruise ships, although you'll probably get away with the other one!

Thank you all for your kind welcomes.

Message received and understood about other ships. At least our last voyage was on the other true liner!  ;D

Regards

K.
