I'm also adding the Conte Biancamano to the list with a note that is partially preserved as the forward section of the superstructure was preserved in a museum in Milan, leaving part of the ship still in existence.

I removed Vistafjord from the list of the last ocean liners, downgraded Queen Mary from Extremely Safe to Safe (Temporarily I hope), Upgraded QE2 to Safe, Upgraded Marco Polo from In Danger to Neutral since CMV didn't remove her from service, and updated RMS Saint Helen's status.

Marco Polo and Astoria are leaving CMV next year. Astoria to an uncertain future and Marco Polo is apparently going to a startup company that plans to operate her like the ship "The World" by selling cabins/rooms onboard but I and others think this is doomed to failure due to the prices being asked for the cabins/rooms by the company being completely unrealistic, no prior maritime knowledge from the company, and them choosing Marco Polo which while in good condition (as is Astoria) doesn't make an obvious condo/apartment ship by age and design. Personally I think Astoria and Marco Polo will be scrapped in 2019 despite their good conditions as many a ship in good condition has gone to the beaches. Good condition is no protection when money is the priority and a ship can't find further work.
First sailed on QE2 in August 2003 aged 6 years old. Last sailed on QE2 in July 2008. Last saw the seagoing QE2 in person from the decks of QM2, on QE2's last Transatlantic crossing (Eastbound tandem) in October 2008. Visited QE2 in her new life, in Dubai, in January 2020 and August 2022.

Hi Thomas
Please do you have a source you can quote for this information?
According to CMV earlier today, this definitely isn't wide spread knowledge there.
Marco Polo is scheduled to be sailing with them for 2019
Thanks,
Rosie,

Marco Polo's 2019 season ends in September 2019 from what I can see.

Astoria has been listed for sale online (although I know to take such adverts with a very big pinch of salt!)

However on further research it appears she may be safe for 2019 given CMV's U-turns and having a calendar with voyages until October 2019.

Both ships leaving CMV has been much talked about on Facebook too.

All this being said, I won't update the status on either ship until such a thing comes to pass.

I'm going to try to update this list a little. There are some ships that have been scrapped or have had the misfortune of sinking since I posted this. I also probably need to specify that some of the ships listed could be considered either ferries or liners depending on the circumstances. The Marco Polo and Istra have been scrapped, so I removed them. The Aurora sank at her berth the other day, so I've updated her status to in danger.
