Photo Competition Results (2017 Calendar)

Although belated, congratulations to Harev for the winning photo in this last month's photo competition and congratulations to cunarder Man and Hamburger for the runner up photos.

The photos are magnificent and so well bring to mind the essence of our QE2. 

And many thanks to all who submitted their special photos of our beloved ship.  Every photo submitted was excellent !

The winner of the January 2016 competition QE2 dining rooms/restaurants is Hamburger with his photo "unpopulated"



We have two runners up this month

Stowaway 2K's peaceful photo "Lido, the calm between the meals"


Congratulations to the winner and runners up and thank you to everyone who participated.  We enjoyed the meals in wonderful surroundings onboard QE2 and now we are keeping the memory alive.  Wouldn't it be lovely if we could step into pictures so as to enjoy the delicious food!

Congratulations to Hamburger for this month's winning photo.  And congratulations to Pete Cain and Stowaway2K for the runner up photos.  They are such wonderful photos evoking our beloved QE2.  And as Lynda wrote, wouldn't it wonderful indeed if we could step back into the photos to enjoy being aboard QE2 and to enjoy her marvelous food !

The theme "QE2 and Flotilla" attracted some wonderful photos.  Thank-you to everyone who uploaded photos and voted. 

The winning photo "The race is on!" submitted by Pete Hamill, truly captured the flotilla as Balmoral followed QE2 upriver on her last visit to the River Clyde. Congratulation to Pete and a big thank-you for sharing this picture with us. 



We had two runners up this month:

"Pass in Review" by Bob C showed us QE2's Dress Rehearsal of the Queen's Silver Jubilee Fleet Review (HMAS Melbourne in the foreground)


"Last Visit Home to The Clyde October 2008" submitted by Cunarder Man captures the moment as small boats escort QE2 on her visit.

I think the most important part of the competition is that it encourages everyone to look back through their collection and share some fantastic photos that the rest of us very much enjoy looking at.

The other interesting part is different people's interpretation of the themes which always leaves me thinking "I never thought of that"!

This is so true Pete, we have seen many photos that would not have been seen as a result of the Photo Competition.
