New ship, New Brand, Buying back QE2...

OT, but has anyone heard anything lately from/about Bernie Warner.  We knew him as well as one can know a Commodore from dining with him, and I concur that he is a charming person.  Just curious what he's up to, other than raising tomatoes.

The source for this information seems to be, from a quick rummage, a now deleted post (link) on cruise critic which said

"There will be a HUGE announcement on JUNE 4th in New York. Several sources are saying that Carnival will be adding a brand new cruise line targeting the "new to cruise". What do you think the announcement will be about?"

Several sources?  Hmm.

"Several sources" sounds like the PR department carrying out the time-honoured tradition of dropping hints in confidence ahead of the actual announcement.

Well, there's nothing on the news and nothing on Carnival's website so far.

Even allowing for the time difference you'd have expected it some time agp now, especially if it is something that might affect their share price - such announcements are traditionally made before the home stock market - in their case Wall Street - opens for the day.

Hardly the big news we'd all been expecting to hear.  A new brand in a business that already has several brands.... not really worth all that pre-hype was it?
