I have only just caught up with the April photos - too late to vote!

The photo "Rare Sight" is IMHO a very atmospheric image of a ship at sea. Is it possible to obtain this photo in a higher definition form? I would love to have it enlarged and printed off and would be happy to credit the photographer in any print I have made.

Cheers,

Lachlan

Hello Lachlan, voting does not close until 1 June so you can still vote. "Rare Sight" is a wonderful atmospheric photo and I can only suggested that you send a personal message to the forum member who entered the photo, you can see the names of the photographer on the gallery album.

I was proud to be involved with planning QE2's 50 year conference in September 2017 in Clydebank

  • Beautiful, elegant QE2 - forever Queen of the Seas
My votes have been cast.  It seems like it gets more difficult every month to make my selections.  All of the photos capture so well the attributes which make our beloved QE2 so special !   :)

Absolutely love the picture of QE2 in QM2's wake.
It shows QE2 in the seas she was built for!

Congratulations to Hamburger and to Stowaway 2K, the winners of this month's photo competition.  The photos so well capture the essence that is QE2, and it is always so great so see our beloved QE2 in her element !   :)

I love the memories I have of the atmosphere of Stoaway 2k's photograph........
A pre-dinner stroll, when most people are getting ready. QE2 is poodling along gently, the breeze  is  gentle and refreshing on a warm evening, as the Sun vanished Into the ocean. You are reflecting on the day, you realise you have been standing there 'day dreaming' for a quite a while, you are relaxed, at peace with the world, enjoying the distant horizons and the  feeling of the iconic beauty that is behind and envelopes you, taking you safely to her next destination.

These are Great photos, Thank you!
(The view aft from the steps up to the Bit Beneath the Bridge was superb too!
I can still remember so well belting down them and along the boat deck to watch from the stern as she was being tied up...:( )

It might be quite nice if the winner(s) shed some light and told us the background to the photograph where, when what cruise etc..  or even why they took that photograph..
From the moment you first glimpsed the Queen,
you just knew you were in for a very special time ahead.!
