Photo of the month competition - instructions on how to vote for your favourite photo

Thank-you to Cunardqueen, the winner of the  January competition, who suggested the theme, "QE2 at Sea" for the April Photo Competition.

Plus a big thank-you to everyone who submitted photos, which we really appreciate

Voting is easy but you need to be a forum member and log into the forum to vote.  Even if you have not submitted photos please support those who have participated by choosing your three favourite photos, noting the details then tick the relevant box on the poll.  But if you have submitted photos please do not vote for the photos you have entered.

To make it easier for you we have posted the photos below, however you can also view the photos in the Gallery.   When there are many entries you will probably get a better view of the photos in the Gallery where you can see them all at once, in thumbnail form plus you can view larger versions of the pictures by clicking on the photo to see medium size, then  click again, to see them in large size.

Click on the Gallery button from the forum or click on this link:
https://www.theqe2story.com/forum/gallery/thumbnails.php?album=132

The winner of this competition will have the choice between two prizes this month: Queen Mary 2 The first 10 years, by Stephen Payne donated by Cunard, and only available to Cunard passengers sailing on the 10th year celebration cruises. Alternatively, June Ingram has offered as a prize the jigsaw version of the winning photo. It will be interesting to see which is preferred!

You will not see the results until after the voting has closed on 1 June 2015 giving other time zones the chance to catch up with the voting deadline.

Please enjoy viewing these fantastic photos and thank-you for voting:)

Now that the week-end is here, why not take some time to have a look at the photos in the April photo Competition "QE2 at Sea" and vote for your three favourites.  Some brilliant pictures

This was the toughest poll to vote on!
All of these photos are magnificent! :)
After all, QE2 looks her best when she's at sea! ;)

I whole heartedly agree Brandon, a toughie! So I went for two extra wow photographs and a thought provoking, serene one.  ;D

What a great collection of images of QE2 in her element.

The question for me was not so much which ones to vote for but rather, " how can such an elegant, graceful and classically beautiful ship be locked away in a dusty corner of an industrial dockyard?"
Don't just be part of her past, be part of her history!

Totally agree with you, Alan
We could also add - 'Why on earth isn't she earning  $$$$$ for her owners'?

  • Beautiful, elegant QE2 - forever Queen of the Seas
I agree wholeheartedly with Alan and Rosie !  The treatment of our beloved QE2 defies any sort of sound reasoning.  How long will she languish there before someone comes forward to rescue her and bring her home where she belongs ?

QE2 - the ship for all of time, a ship of timeless beauty !

Was that shirt only available in the Crew Shop?

Brandon, That shirt came from a friend onboard.
Some of my other ones were crew shop only.

Brilliant photos showing QE2 at Sea but unfortunately voting has been a bit slow and we need some more votes- if you have some time this week-end why not have a look at the pictures and vote for your favourite.
