So it's that kind of calendar!   :o  What about that statement then that two out of five husbands tell their wives daily that they love them?!   ???

Perhaps I don't remember the information about the presidents right, could it be that they only had one child each? I never met any of them to have a chance to count the wellies inside the back door...

I've just posted a video onto You Tube - it's not great quality, but it does show the two ships together in that harbour. It was taken with my Olympus Digital Camera's "Video" function.

A few days later, Hobart (Tasmania) said farewell to QE2. The pipe band was a nice touch. Spectators were not allowed on the docks - but later on we were greeted by lots of Yachts and small boats...

Final video for today - QE2's first and only visit to the small town of Albany, in Australia.

The whole town was out to see QE2.

'Speed Queens'
Departure of the MS Queen Victoria from Circular Quay, Sydney, and arrival of the RMS Queen Elizabeth 2 (in 60 seconds).

(Ignore QV and marvel at QE2 and all the teeny boats escorting her!)

Poor Victoria, she leaves unnoticed, & look at the welcome for QE2, the video says it all, as ever thanks to youtube & those who post so we can all see...

.

I think even the fireboat is going to welcome QE2, apologies if this has been posted previously

To be fair (as one who was there) while QE2 did get the most attention, QV got an excellent flotilla as she sailed out of the harbour after passing QE2. The boats were all cleared away from the Circular Quay turning ground before QV departed. (QV was late, QE2 was right on time!).

Rob,
That really is as you say an outstanding photo...
Imagine if she entered that pic on the photo of the month...
From the moment you first glimpsed the Queen,
you just knew you were in for a very special time ahead.!
