But I digress....  Do you have any more pictures of the bridge as you sailed underneath it, perhaps taken with that very camera?

Sadly no, Things like going under the bridge soon became ordinary when we were doing it every 10 days or so and was only really 'special' the first time. After that when we were on deck at sailaway we were just working.

I know it sounds terribly blasé to say that, but looking back at what those of us who worked on board had access to and how much of it we took for granted is now almost embarrassing. You live and learn as they say.

Don't just be part of her past, be part of her history!

Having lived in the greater NY area all my live, and being afflicted by a fear of heights, I'll drive hours to avoid going over the Verazzano (not to mention avoiding Brooklyn).  For whatever reason the George Washington doesn't bother me.  Anyhow, much nicer to sail under the big V!
I hope you don't go on the Cross Bronx during rush hour!  ::)
On a more serious note, I believe that the Verazzano is the longest suspension bridge in the US.

Adam:  Going from NJ to Long Island I end up taking the Cross Bronx frequently, but generally off peak hours.  The alternatives are the Holland and Lincoln Tunnels, and the Big V bridge--all with various negatives attached.  Life is full of compromises!

Having sailed under the bridge many times both on QE2 and QM2, last November I had the privilege of running across the bridge. The bridge is the starting point for the NYC marathon which I’m happy to say I completed. One of my “bucket list” items.
