Great pictures Hauke! I really like the one of the QE2 'under the tree'.

Good pictures; a question about the postcard ones - did Cunard issue the same cards on each World cruise with just the year changed in the margin, or did they issue totally different cards each year?

The upper image with the flowering tree is from me.
The other pictures with the numbers are not postcards.
There are images that have been added on each trip around the world. I will soon also share other images. I have hundreds of pictures and has to go through it once. By the way .... thank you for your answers.

The images with the logo down the side would have been taken, printed and sold by the ships photographers. Some images would have been used for two or three years. If QE2 had just visited that particular port then 'stock shots' would be printed from negatives held on board.

A bit of a cheat perhaps, but often the costs incurred in doing a photo shoot (especially if helicopters were involved) were likely to be more than would be recovered from the sale of the pictures to one set of passengers.

In QE2's later years her external appearance didn't change too much so using 'stock shots' was not much of an issue, but in the earlier years (late 70's early 80's) she had a few changes which meant that it was not always easy to get away with using 'stock shots' of her exterior.
Don't just be part of her past, be part of her history!

Hi Ala,
I also say thank you for the information. I thought that these pictures were always freshly made. In Sydney in 1994 was a helicopter above us. But actually that was in almost every big city like that.  :D
