The images with the logo down the side would have been taken, printed and sold by the ships photographers. Some images would have been used for two or three years. If QE2 had just visited that particular port then 'stock shots' would be printed from negatives held on board.
A bit of a cheat perhaps, but often the costs incurred in doing a photo shoot (especially if helicopters were involved) were likely to be more than would be recovered from the sale of the pictures to one set of passengers.
In QE2's later years her external appearance didn't change too much so using 'stock shots' was not much of an issue, but in the earlier years (late 70's early 80's) she had a few changes which meant that it was not always easy to get away with using 'stock shots' of her exterior.
