CUNARD announce new non smoking policy for 2014
« on: Aug 17, 2013, 10:13 AM »
Following on from Disney Cruise Line, announcing a non smoking policy on their balconies, earlier this week, Cunard and NCL have also introduced the same/similar policy, due to feedback from past guests.
Cunard have said the above policy will come into force on April 28 on both QM2 & QV ,and May 09th QE 2014.
Having sailed with Cunard between 4 & 5 times each year for the past three years and several times before that , and also being a smoker I have never had a questionnaire handed to me to fill in regarding smoking. Looks like I will be hiding in G32 for my next Cruises.

Seabourn as well, HAL will probably be next. I'm kind of fed up with this anti-smokers crusade. QM2 is already very much not smoker-friendly, you're not even allowed to use Churchill's for a cigarette, which means there is no smoking area apart from G32 and a tiny outdoor spot, both way aft. I totally agree that smoking had to be banned inside, but now enough is enough!

I have never been asked to leave "Churchills" whilst smoking a cigarette, however another guest I spoke too, did tell me that they where asked not to smoke cigarettes whilst another guest was smoking a Cigar as the smell of cigarettes ruined there enjoyment of smoking a $60-$90.00 Cigar. As for G32 it is only open for SMOKING after 6.00PM, but never policed, other than the fact that there are NO ashtrays available in the afternoon etc.. Weather permitting, the Todd English Terrace Bar, starboard side too, four (4) tables are available to smokers all day, and always occupied, and Promenade Deck (Deck 7) Aft under the CLOCK is an allocated smoking area, however you get some rather ungratifying glares from Deck runners/jogas as they pass every few minutes continually.
DUTY FREE TOBACCO & CIGARETTES AVAILABLE FROM AS LITTLE AS $24.00(£16) per 200 (BUT PLEASE DO NOT SMOKE THEM ONBOARD) is in the small print.

ONLY JOKING

I have been asked to leave Churchill's, twice, and there was nobody around... That's what I'm saying, there is no smoking area apart from the stern, I don't think it is fair

No fags allowed inside on the Cunard ships...Oh dear lord  ;) ;) ;)
One assumes there is still the usual meeting place  :)
From the moment you first glimpsed the Queen,
you just knew you were in for a very special time ahead.!
