Not Ebay exactly - more 'Guess which part'?

That part is a turbine blade root fixing. I'd love to own something like this but not at that price  :o

I am surprised nobody bid on the navigational chart. I am even more surprised that someone would part with it. I have a navigational chart from QE2's 2nd to last voyage (Mediterranean) just before voyage to Dubai. They were auctioned off for charity during last day at sea. I could not think of parting with it.

the "legend" says that this bell was sold by the captain of the QE2. During the supper he made an auction of this object....

How much  :o :o :o
I don't think that's a very good model myself. I certainly wouldn't buy it (at any price).

A nice item to own but not keen on the price :o

I used to have some steam valve identity discs (numbered 736 of course) which I polished up and glued to a cork base. These made fabulous  drinks coasters but I think I chucked them out :'(
I shall have to check in my parents loft to see if they're there.

I'd have strong doubts it is from the QE2. The date appears to be wrong (built into the serial number) and the reference to "736" looks like the standard to which the motor was built (normally where the British Standard Number would go were this not for nautical use), and surely not where the ship's build number would appear. Also, what is the supposed use to which this motor was put?

At that price I would insist on proof that is real and not a made up fake.He say the came from her induction motors . John Brown would have most likely brought motors in from a suppler and they would not be unique to QE2. After the 1987 refit she had two unique 50MW drive motors. Ancillary motors for pumps lifts etc would not be made especially for QE2 they most likely came off the shelf from a supplier . Prior to 1987 I am not sure what system would require a 3Kv start voltage on 3 phase rated at 5351 HP?  may a fuel pump for her bunker fuel?
Were the BS on the plate is is were the standard to which the motor was made to . Also on the BS the 763 looks in a diffrent stamp from the rest. I am not say this is a fake but with the amount of fakes on ebay one has to be careful to make sure he is buying the real thing. To me this has a few question marks

It might be an idea to ask him a question and see where he obtained it?. Or at least see what proof he has over it.
