And look at the shipping charge...... :o It turns what is a reasonably priced item into a rather expensive item....Even half that rate would still provide a very reasonable profit on the shipping charge alone...
I do wonder does the seat for want of a better phrase screw appart....
From the moment you first glimpsed the Queen,

Hey Bob

Flippin' heck, as far a  builders' style model of the old girl is concerned - I'm stony broke!!
And - wotsmore, my bought-on-board Very Ugly $29 Extra-small Model of QE2 is really all i actually need,
specially when it comes to dusting etc!
Goodness knows how all the big collectors manage to keep their humungous ones speck-free? ::)
So thanks for the thought; and we can hope that someone else will very much enjoy looking at it!
(Funny thing about ebay, isn't it - it's there to meet the wishes of buyers, and the apparent needs of sellers!)
Rosie

PS - Doesn't this topic need a QE2 in it as well??

Nice model but unfortunately I do not have a spare £1000 to buy it.
I was proud to be involved with planning QE2's 50 year conference in September 2017 in Clydebank

Hi Rosie, Pity Santa is not going to be bringing you the big model of the QE2--however--here is a thought for you. I have about 4 of the Airfix QE2 kits in the house. Once i have finished the sailing ship i am working on at the moment, and after i build the big 1/450 scale QE2 with lights etc.--how about i build one of the Airfix kits for you? I will light it up and it would be ready in time for next Christmas.--my gift to you for you to keep, and my pleasure to build it for you.

Thank you, bobso.
Your offer is extremely kind, and Im aware that this post could soon be 'off the forum', never mind off topic!
However, I'll politely decline if I may.
My Very Ugly $29 Extra-small Model would feel more than a trifle put out if another, better looking one - and with lights, arrived on the scene!
After all, QE2 is, has been and always will be a 'one off', a 'one and only' unique 'experience', and my model identifies totally with this sentiment too!
One's enough!

Hope plans are going well for your Model of QE2.
All the best
Rosie
