Anyone know the whereabouts of Captain Nick Bates?  Alive and well, hopefully.  Sailed with him on numerous
occasions.  Was lucky enough to be seated at either the Captains table on many voyages or the Doctor's table.
Does anyone know Bernard Warner ?  Also former QE2 captain.  So sad about David Perkins.  He was such fun to be around. May he rest in peace.

Any locations or info on the current status of Dr. Martin Carroll or Dr. David Williams?  The doctors threw the best,
absolutely most fabulous parties.  Never got to dinner on time....!   Fond memories indeed.  I hope all are well.

Great to hear from you, Sue!

You will find lots of information about Nick Bates, including responses to your questions, in the topic dedicated to him as a Captain of the QE2.

I really enjoyed meeting him as Captain twice, the first time on Caronia and the second time on QE2. He also came to our 2017 conference in Greenock and entertained us with his speech and his sense of humour.

As Isabelle mentioned Nick Bates was one of our speakers at the 50 year conference in Clydebank in 2017. He lives near Edinburgh and does volunteering work for the Seagull Trust. I remember him telling us when we were booking him for the conference that despite having captained the QE2 he was required to do a test to captain a barge.  He is available to do public speaking have a look at this website where you can see his profile. Unfortunately the link to his personal website is not working.
