Er thanks Robert and while not usually one to turn down an offer of cake but I think I'll pass on this occasion as looks a little past its best.  That said, from what I can see it looked pretty good when new.

I was wondering how the cake managed to survive. Wouldn't the bugs and ants have gotten to it?

I tried this post earlier - but the photo was too large - I'm going to try again!  This was our dessert at Thanksgiving dinner this year - her final day!  I had it done at a local bakery, where the owners had never even heard of QE2, and thought I was rather crazy to be having a cake made for the last day of a "cruise ship" (yes - I shuddered when they said that!).  Not exactly the best rendering of her - I would have rathered a side view so you could see the funnel - but everyone at dinner loved it!

I had mine made for her final day - the day she arrived in Dubai - which happened to land on the same day as Thanksgiving!
