I do like the pencil thin funnel in Cunard colours too, but I think the black and white funnel made a thoroughly modern statement at the time of QE2's entering service.  She was definitely the modern girl of her time in 1969, but she also successfully adapted to each decade after that.

Yes, I seem to remember reading somewhere on here that when it was white, it was supposed to look like a sail?

https://www.theqe2story.com/forum/index.php/topic,59.msg3793.html#msg3793 - I read it on post number 87 on this topic. I never knew it was supposed to look like a sail.

I did download a PDF file that talked about the design with diagrams, however I cannot remember where it came from.

Yes but not sure weather to post it as I do not know where it came from :/

Just found it, it isn't a PDF, it's just a jpeg image and there is not as much on it as I remember. It is definately from somewhere on the forum though as it has the watermark.

Hi Adam - If it has the QE2 Story watermark, it probably can be searched here to see where it came from.  Perhaps check with Rob on how to proceed.  June

I would be interested to know if anybody knows the book where that actually came from? Or know of any books talking about the QE2's design?

It was a journal, all of which is available in the internet.

We have a thread about it, here :
