Thank you for having found that, Rosie! That is a 10-minute summary of our 3-week Autumn Colours cruise in September last year... happy times...!

There was a German TV team on board -- all very friendly. I chatted with them here and there, including some evenings in the swimming pool. The film was shown on ZDF last December I believe -- but it was so hard to find out the date, that I never did get to see it...

Not sure whether this is an extract from the film -- perhaps it's even a different crew -- but how lovely to see it  :D  . Glad too that they mention the wonderful send-off we got from Quebec -- you could feel the affection the people there had for the ship, miles and miles up the St Lawrence river, they were gathered in the dusk and the dark of the evening, waving and flashing their cameras for the QE2 and for us. Memories...  :'(

Yes, to me as one who was present, those were the three best farewells : Zeebrugge (July), Quebec (September) and the Clyde (October). The Clyde was the high point, and I am so glad this this is where I waved my own farewell to her... in great company too.   :D :'( :D

This is in German but for those not fluent, it shows some lovely interior shots:

It's still a nasty surprise to 'remember' that QE2 is no longer sailing...

Found on You Tube. It's all in German, bit like watching BBC Alba- scones und clotted cream- but with more bagpipe music  ;). Can anyone spot themselves on this (perhaps having a wee sing)?

Full Away on Passage.

A quick shot of The QE2 Diva, Mary Mastony being presented with something from The Captain. I had the great pleasure to encounter Mary on the Farewell UK trip..
A unique, entertaining and loveable lady...
NOT to be confused with Bea
I wonder what year this was filmed ?

From the moment you first glimpsed the Queen,
you just knew you were in for a very special time ahead.!

Wonderful video!  Thanks for posting.  When I watch that, I'm back aboard and happy.  She was so special.

This video was made by a German TV crew, from the ZDF, one of the two German TV stations which together are roughly the equivalent of the BBC. They were on board with us for the first half of the 2008 Autumn Colours cruise -- very pleasant people, whom I used to meet here and there on the ship.

During the New York sailaway, they were allowed to film on the forecastle, under the guiding hand of Thomas Quinones, who quite obviously enjoyed himself and the occasion.

We never did find out when the film was broadcast, so it was a pleasure to find it after a while on YouTube.

The video brought back many memories of sailing from New York to Quebec in 2003.  :)
I was proud to be involved with planning QE2's 50 year conference in September 2017 in Clydebank

Just seen this, brilliant, even more so when there are multiple shots of tenders & davits, we could've (should've ) been on that trip,
what is it they say ........., repent at leisure :(
