Forming bends in metal components that small isn't easy, Those railings are indeed looking good.
When do the teak handrails go on?  :P

Great work Sir.

This is looking Very Good indeed!

Model making with 2 working hands is tricky enough -
with just one, it could be impossible...
Well done to You, Pete :)
Best to you Both
R.

Just a few shots of oh so slow progress on QE2, Foremast just plonked on that's why it's tilted, nearly there, still railings to sort out, & details as much as I want to do.   Just re arranged the deck chairs for a change.
Happy Christmas everybody , & as ever thanks to Alistair who started this topic such a long time ago...

I admire your determination, patience, skill and your festive tablecloth!

Is Jim helping?

Great work Pete! Particularly like the attention to detail with the coloured deck chairs which is something my Dad did on his Revell 1/1200 scale QE2 - different colours on each deck chair!
First sailed on QE2 in August 2003 aged 6 years old. Last sailed on QE2 in July 2008. Last saw the seagoing QE2 in person from the decks of QM2, on QE2's last Transatlantic crossing (Eastbound tandem) in October 2008. Visited QE2 in her new life, in Dubai, in January 2020 and August 2022.

Think Alistair will be glad I've nearly stopped plagiarising his topic, work still in progress but, the model today gained  :  a name, an identity, a foremast & some funnel rigging. Lots of tidying & touching up to do but
 getting there..

Love the little paint details, such as painted windows of the cabins of the lifeboats and tenders plus the red locker on the bridge wing! That glue is familiar, my Dad and I having used it with our plastic models in the past too!

Oh My Word Pete - This is a Grand Model!
It possibly took a great deal of time, patience and very steady hand-work.
Well Done - hoping you are patting yourself well on the back!
VBW to you - And Mrs Pete
Hoping you are both keeping well.

Spurred on by the appearance of Gerhards fine model I unpacked mine today,  we are currently trying to sell our house, but, after no interest for 3 months thought it was time to get my life back (you know, everything tidied away forever , always spick 'n' span, hide Jim-- well forget the last one).  so here it is at present, I am trying to represent wire stays around the funnel area, & signal ropes around the foremast.
Like Lachlan it took me ages to find where ropes were tied off, but have managed reasonably well I hope you agree. I was thinking that the ropes on the foremast were a bit thick but looking at the picture that I've used as guidance from the calander in the background, maybe it's not too bad, I have limited dexterity & that is what I can work with , so it will have to stay.
There are more ropes & stays that will balance the model which I cannot for the love of me find anywhere, however I can seee them on the new forum  header  anybody help me out here please, got to be some info out there.  I know this is only a representation but, I would like it as near as possible..

Fantastic to see the details of the model Pete.  It must have been a good feeling to unpack and display QE2 in pride of place.

ps: like the classy stand for the model when sitting on the window ledge!  ;D
