QE2 Officers / Crew group photos

The Waiter at the back on the left with the bow tie and grey jacket was called Bill, he served on the Queen Mary. He was a wonderful chap and we met him in the Columbia Restaurant in September 1984. I recall his stories about going to the Falklands on QE2.

just found these pics...this one is taken in the britannia galley at the christmas party...I 'm the pasty faced one who's just come back off leave whilst the other lads have been baking in the caribbean ! the good looking guy next to me is dave beale all round athlete and columbia waiter ...the other lads names have unfortunately been eroded by time .....sorry guy's.

 this I found sandwiched between the leaves of a book so unfortunately there is some ink impregnated onto it ..taken in the britannia annexe in autumn 1975 ..AND...I have the names of all these guy's (I wrote them on the folder !) back row L-R

As Michael said - 7th September 2008. Rachelle and I were aboard during that voyage. It was amazing to see them all gathering on the bow of the ship. It was another of those occasions where it felt so strange to know that she was so close to retirement.

Yep, I remember this being taken and it also marked David Perkins last call prior to returning to Southampton and departing QE2 for the final time as Captain

As you can see, this is a photograph of a computer screen! I received the picture in a rather odd Excel format, which can be opened only on a PC and not my Mac.

Thanks to the kindness of Nick Herber of the QE2 Printshop, who converted the Excel picture for me, I now have a far superior version of this picture in .jpg format :

That Kiwi fellow standing tall on the stbd bridge wing has just taken his parents for a one-month cruise on the QE, and Hamish Sunter was there as well!

Love the pictures. It was these people what made QE2 what she was all about.

For all you people that paid my wages for 20 years. This quote IS what it was all about. Did we like each other...not always...dis we respect each other...not always.....did we talk to each other...not always...... But did we forget about that to give the best damn ride in the world? I think so.

There were people in my department that I hated and would not speak to....but did I trust them with my life in one of the many emergencies I encountered? ABSOLUTELY! And then get back to hating them!
