They tried to do one in Lisbon during the Final Voyage but couldn't get the angle right. They wanted to repeat the 1990 Japan one where you got the side of the ship in as well. So... a crane was duly requisitioned for this but they just couldn't do it. A shame as I was to be in it standing at the back!

It was planned to redo it in Alexandria but those plans came to nought.

Peter: I have some webcam grabs of them starting to assemble for the Valencia shot.

Hi Michael,

That little spec half way along the stbd bridge wing in your and Isabelle's photograph is the 3rd officer, who was also the cadet getting the spaghetti necklace during the line crossing, and again, is the unsmiling cadet on the right in the Hong Kong 2007 photograph. At the moment Skilly junior is down the hallway asleep.

Cheers

Skilly Snr. ;)

Just been given this photo of Officers and Crew together following the QE2's commissioning for the Falklands War. It also shows some Military officers who were served their meals in the Grill Rooms. I know this was taken in the Queens Grill and I recognise a few faces like George Adamou the wine steward and Jonathan Norton the hotel officer. Anyone know or recognise any others?

Hi Peter ... looks like you, third person from bottom.   If it is you, who's in front of you, looks familiar.

Janice
Whenever I hear a sea story I think of the first time I saw the QE2 and the great adventures that followed.

The STBD anchor assembly still has the center anchor chain run and I am assuming the anchor was gone by then.  In an effort to narrow down the year of the photo, does anyone know what year was that trancated?
