I have started a new thread in the QM2 section with some Dry-Dock pictures.

My profile pictures was taken as they were pumping out the water in the 2008 dry-dock in Hamburg.

Thanks for posting!  Great pics. ;D  Interesting to see the waterflow pattern in the slime at the bow area around the bulbous bow sections too.

These photos are awesome!
It looks as if QM2's hull was almost too tall for the walls of the dock
I can't imagine that getting her in was easy...

When she was leaving Southampton
with her port bow thrusters working hard, she looked huge
and at the same time -  as if she could 'turn on a sixpence'!

Do you think anyone's published a book of Dry Docks and docking etc?
(with explanations for the interested non-seafaring reader!)

She certainly is an impressive ship. Far more so than Oasis in my opinion.

A great Video

As for Oasis and her sister ship to launched next year they are just plain ugly

Nice to see QM2 in action in that video.  Still wanting for exterior shots of her slogging through some good seas, such as what sh has recently encountered.  Regarding the OOTS, I find certain aspects of the profile appealing, but ungainly from certain angles, such as full bow or stern views.  There is no way you can mask the sheer size.  On the otherhand, compared to the NCL Epic, she does not look too bad.

Interesting to see that they featured the pods alot in the video...maybe it was because they had to perform extensive repairs for such little time in service.  :o

Great little clip, as well as some fantastic pictures of the dry dock - you really don't appreicate the total si\e of her until you see her from the keel up.

Thanks for posting!

Is that what it is? I thought it was wear from the anchor chains.
