I figuered out, it takes me a while to get to grips with things.  how to get a bit of the Tandem Wintercrossing, stood on the deck of QE2, of QV hitting the swell.

Hard to believe but Three years ago tonight the Farewell UK voyage had ended and we were setting off to New York in tandem with QM2 for the Farewell Westbound crossing...

I know what you mean Rob but all is not quite what it seems!  The angle this was shot from obscures the 2 other scanners (one below this on the mast and the other atop the bridge), of which, at least one or both would have been spinning at the time.

We took the photos and video from the deck of the QV on its Maiden Crossing and the start of the Maiden World Cruise on 7 January 2008 in tandem with QE2 for the three Queens in NY Harbor.  The first several days out of Southampton we had heavy weather in the North Atlantic

Excellent photos! My Dad was onboard QE2 with his sister at the time and has similar photos of QV in the North Atlantic swells and the fog that was encountered later on in (I think) the 7 night crossing (at the Grand Banks as usual) - among other photos from this tandem.
