We all know which of the two sisters we would have rather been on but at least someone travelled on QV otherwise we wouldn't be able to watch the QE2 performing as a true ocean liner so well.

Thanks for finding Pete

We had a very poor view that day... ;)
From the moment you first glimpsed the Queen,
you just knew you were in for a very special time ahead.!

That video of QE2 at night on the Atlantic has sent super-shivers down my spine.  She's just so beautiful and i just adore the 'speckling' of the illuminated portholes against the hull.  Andreas must have taken this just after dark I think, before curtains were drawn.

Stunning videos of a beautiful ship.

Rob, just joined the clips into one. Turned the lights off and sound up and I was transported! Just WONDERFUL ;D

I spent many hours, just standing at the railing... to watch and admire the QE2. The shooting was a while after the sunset - whith the last bit of the light. I remember this moment - also with "shivers down my spine" - shiver with cold...and tears of joy!

Thank you very much indeed for both the videos and that wonderful image of QE2 after dusk.
These will all go a long way to making sure that for those who weren't fortunate enough to sail on board QE2,
they will be able to appreciate why she is 'simply the best'!

Another transatlantic crossing video ,but well worth a look, really
« Reply #28 on: Apr 19, 2010, 08:24 PM »
It's been awhile since I was last on the forum, & I distinctly remember Rob wanting to put videos of trans Atlantic crossings in a particular topic, well I cannot find it. this video kindly posted on Youtube by QE220091967 just gets better,& better, the more ot goes on. I post it because , this video is in real terms very recent & having read the latest  vessel status report on QE2 posted on the forum, item 392 on said report; quoting loosely; "peak web frames with excessive diminution" . This kind of corrosion doesn't appear overnight  so when this video was being videod, Cunard must 've been sending her to sea in same condition surely?

.

Can somebody explain how said corrosion happens surely these areas are painted & of constant humidity all sealed up etc . etc . etc...

  • At Mach 2 three days after being on QE2...
That's the best clip I've seen yet.  I think I will be watching that one many times. :)
