Even 24/25 is impressive for a passenger ship now I suppose. I would have loved to experience that on a crossing.
Both of the ships on recent cruises we have done were capable of a maximum speed of 24 knots, one of them being the 235,000 ton Wonder of the seas. Pretty good clip for something so big. Most of the ships I worked on apart from QE2 were generally capable of around 17 knots. Looks like marine engineering has come a long way .
