Arrived QE2 early this morning and spent the day exploring. 15 years and one day since my mother and I disembarked here. Great to meet Alex Tarry tonight and share experiences. We then went on a short hunt looking for some historical items. Great fun!! More to follow.

Thank you both for the piccies. But of course you know what it is with me and piccies !!!

Question 1) The writing in Arabic (?) on the white part of the ship above Queen Elizabeth 2, it that just Queen Elizabeth 2 in Arabic?

Question 2) The first piccie taken facing aft over a planked deck, looking at lots and lots of lights.  Where QE 2 is, is it a busy working dockyard?  A busy working tourist attraction?. Sorry guys getting old and get confused!
Would appreciate any info you can give.

There is so much wrong on that QE2 cutaway schematic in the aft section I don’t know where to start and thats just the bit I can see, decks wrongly labelled for one.

As in the classic Morecambe and Wise with Mr Andrew Preview, they might be correctly labeled, just not in the right place...
They have a beautiful ship there, and yet display such a lot of things Before you get onboard , or am l missing the point.
But l do hope John enjoys his time onboard

The feedback we are getting from John is that he enjoying the experience and that it is encouraging the work that has been done on the ship.  I hope John will write a review on his return home.

I believe it is; note that it starts with a "2" and if I remember correctly things are written backwards ( to our eyes ) in the Arabian cultures.

Just to check - they haven't re-labelled any decks on the actual ship as part of her new role have they?
