QE2 - Underwater Survey April 2023

QE2 Hotel Dubai have been in touch to share with us that they conducted a full underwater survey on April 16th of this year, which has meant that the previously discussed drydocking has been able to be postponed.  As the operators of a hotel, I'm sure they're very pleased to avoid this disruption!

They have been very generous, and taken the time to share with us videos of the survey which are fascinating :-

Wonderful to see! Thank you for sharing and for Dubai giving permission for something that's not usually public.

The two sacrificial anodes on her blanked off starboard shaft (in the last video) are in remarkable condition for 5 years underwater!

I'm out of touch but is QE2 run by the Accor group now?
Are they the group who own Ibis, Novotel etc?

Accor took over operation (not ownership) about a year ago from PCFC. Accor also operate the famous Raffles hotel in Singapore among other well known hotels around the world.
