Im delighted to see that Queen Mary is starting to awaken, from her sleep, Any hotel operation that is closed forcibly , and something like Queen mary will be a nightmare to reopen , think on the water alone in the showers, baths and kitchens, unused for all this time, You can't just suddenly reopen at the click of a switch, Then when you do reopen , that when the leaks starts, the bulbs fuse and more issues come to light.
I never tried to get tickets, as i knew it would be a sellout, But l look forward to visiting her, at the end of the year, to her simply stunning Sunday Brunch (voted the best in So Cal ) Imagine the figures for a brunch seating 980 and each guest paying around $70 . That's what it was last time i visited. Think on alone the bottles of sparkling wine , for that numbers your looking at roughly 850 , and noone can be sure how much your really drinking, but it is frequently topped up.
Hopefully, with some tweaking, an already lovely experience can be enhanced to not only increase revenue but footfall and bums on beds.
A very simple thing that touched me on a visit was a bottle of QM sparkling wine in the cabin with 5 strawberries and a welcome aboard card , the cost is really very little but the impression and thought was priceless. But as usual with buffets get in there early and you can maybe manage a dinner onboard that same day. I still have friends who live in the LA area who have yet to visit.
It is of course nice to see Honorary Commodore Everette , back in uniform , and back where he belongs.
