Key dates for the QE2 Story Calendar for 2023
« on: Oct 19, 2022, 10:33 AM »
I am working on the 2023 calendar on and off, trying out various formats.

But I still have to insert some key dates from QE2's service life. Some of them, such as her building and launch, as well as her final arrival in Dubai, are so to speak foregone conclusions. But what other dates would you like to see included?

You might get inspiration from the QE2 Timeline, here :

And there is also the other timeline of maiden calls and final calls :

I could just carry forward the key dates of the previous calendars -- but it would actually be nice to bring in some dates that you yourselves want to see included!

With so many dates to consider , where would you start, personally l think just carry forward the dates from previous years
But going down the line of boosting funds, why not ask if members want to add the date they first sailed for a contribution of say £5 or £10 or does this smack of commercialism

I'm just realising l never ordered a calendar for this year .

Dare we ask what formats your thnking of, do we go for a small desk top , but then probably risk not having all the photos, or a great big wall version which takes up half the wall  , or meet in the middle, l for one dont  envy your task of the planning process.
From the moment you first glimpsed the Queen,
you just knew you were in for a very special time ahead.!

I am sure everyone will be looking forward to The QE2 Story 2023 Calendar.  I have my calendar above my little desk where I can admire the photos and take in the details of each picture.
I was proud to be involved with planning QE2's 50 year conference in September 2017 in Clydebank
