April 2019 : QE2 -- It's all in the details
« on: Apr 02, 2019, 06:29 PM »
This month's theme is "QE2 -- It's all in the details", chosen by Pete Cain, the runner-up of the December 2018 competition. Looking forward to your photos, as seen from on board or from shoreside. The choice is yours -- but some detail of QE2, showing the excellence of this detail, should feature in the picture.

Enjoy the competition -- I guess the subject leaves some scope for the search among your photographs :) .

The prize this month is the book The QE2 Story by Chris Frame and Rachelle Cross, donated by me, Isabelle Prondzynski.

This is currently selling for GBP 8.99 at Amazon UK.

Alternatively, June Ingram is offering a jigsaw of the prizewinning picture. The choice is yours -- which will it be?

How to enter

The album is open -- so now is the time to look for your three most interesting pictures on this theme. Wishing you happy memories as you search your photo collection to find up to three pictures to upload to the competition album.

This link will take you straight there : QE2 -- It's all in the details.

If you have not uploaded photos to the Forum Gallery before, have a look at these instructions, and if you have any problems, just contact us on admin@theqe2story.com. You could even email the photos to this address, and we can upload them for you.

The deadline for submitting photos is 30 April 2019. Voting will run from 1 May 2019 until 31 May 2019.

We look forward to seeing your photos in this month's competition.

This is the eighth month of photos for the 2020 calendar. Maybe your photo will figure there!

Enjoy yourselves!  :)

Just contributed. A good choice of topic given the variety of possible photos.
First sailed on QE2 in August 2003 aged 6 years old. Last sailed on QE2 in July 2008. Last saw the seagoing QE2 in person from the decks of QM2, on QE2's last Transatlantic crossing (Eastbound tandem) in October 2008. Visited QE2 in her new life, in Dubai, in January 2020 and August 2022.

We have 16 entries now, and are expecting many more! There must be so many photos of QE2 details about -- and if necessary, bigger photos could be cropped :) .

Have a look at the huge variety of pictures already there, and add your three! Every picture tells its own story and gladdens the hearts of us QE2 fans :) .

Uploaded my three photos.  Looking forward to seeing a few more uploaded.
I was proud to be involved with planning QE2's 50 year conference in September 2017 in Clydebank
