  • QE2 started a dream to go to sea - now a reality!
Hi everyone,

Just this evening, I have come across this gem of a documentary/travelogue whilst searching for and buying Stephen Payne's Hayne's QE2 guide on Amazon.co.uk. The documentary/travelogue is 99 pence through download so I thought why not! The documentary covers her 80 day World Cruise of 1982 (a year before Alan Whicker's Wicker's World episodes from her 1983 Great Pacific cruise but Alan Whicker was onboard apparently for "planning" purposes on the 1982 World Cruise). The documentary/travelogue gives thanks to Captain Peter Jackson and crew.

Here's the link although sadly no preview is available before buying:

Hopefully I have posted this in the correct part of the forum!

First sailed on QE2 in August 2003 aged 6 years old. Last sailed on QE2 in July 2008. Last saw the seagoing QE2 in person from the decks of QM2, on QE2's last Transatlantic crossing (Eastbound tandem) in October 2008. Visited QE2 in her new life, in Dubai, in January 2020 and August 2022.

Years ago l bought The Doug Jones Travelogue video and having watched it , it was great at the various destinations, but if memory serves me , it didnt  show much about QE2 herself  .
From the moment you first glimpsed the Queen,
you just knew you were in for a very special time ahead.!
