David Hicks (1929 - 1998) was born in Coggeshall, Essex.
Education: Charterhouse then studied painting at the Central School of Art and Design, London
His clientele included: Vidal Sassoon, Helena Rubinstein, Duchess of Rutland, Mrs. Conde Nast. After his marriage to Lady Mountbatten he was commissioned to decorate apartments of HRH Prince Charles and Princess Anne at Buckingham Palace
