Ok then, have some deckchairs!

Not too long before they were replaced with the Teak deckchairs, influenced by that Titanic film so I've heard...

First sailed on QE2 in August 2003 aged 6 years old. Last sailed on QE2 in July 2008. Last saw the seagoing QE2 in person from the decks of QM2, on QE2's last Transatlantic crossing (Eastbound tandem) in October 2008. Visited QE2 in her new life, in Dubai, in January 2020 and August 2022.

Although I'd argue the Teak deckchairs are more appropriate and they weather well too. Quite comfortable with the tied on mattress type cushions! One of the benefits of that Titanic film. Not to mention the old Queens had them etc etc.

It so weird/crazy/amazing to me that these videos were taken 5 days after disembarking from my first transatlantic crossing!  In that same spot!

Although I do feel like more deck chairs were added near the end of her career, I believe here where always soon
kind of lighter, stackable deckchairs on the Sun Deck.  I could be wrong but I have a memory of white plastic loungers with blue webbing.

Those were the sun loungers, again different to the deckchairs in the above video. I remember them well too!

One of my photos from August 2007:

And one of my photos from July 2008 for the traditional Teak deckchairs which QM2 has always had:

I'll have to look through my personal photos, but I believe the blue sun loungers replaced the metal/strappy loungers on Sun Deck in the video.  And, in August of 1998 there were teak deck chairs on the Boat Deck only.

Indeed, the teak deckchairs resided on Boat Deck all round and outside the Lido on Quarter Deck, and maybe on One Deck around the pool (outside the Pavilion food bar) and around the Funnel Bar (of post 2004 QE2) on Sun Deck. The sun loungers were the main source of seating on the aft open decks from memory like you remember too  :) . This is from personal experience in her last 5 years (2003 to 2008) but one or two details in my memory may be wrong!
