This month's theme is "Behind the scenes -- photos off the public spaces", chosen by Hamburger, the winner of the September competition.

This could be a very interesting collection!

The prize this month is the World Cruise 1977 Information Guide, donated by Tony Cash, an ex-photographer on QE2.

Alternatively, June Ingram is offering a jigsaw of the prizewinning picture. The choice is yours -- which will it be?

The album is open -  so now is the time to look for your most interesting pictures on this theme. Wishing you happy memories as you search your photo collection to find up to three pictures to upload to the competition album.

This link will take you straight there : Behind the scenes -- photos off the public spaces.

If you have not uploaded photos to the Forum Gallery before, have a look at these instructions, and if you have any problems, just contact us on admin@theqe2story.com. You could even email the photos to this address, and we can upload them for you.

The deadline for submitting photos is 31 December 2017. Voting will run from 1 January 2018 until 31 January 2018.

We look forward to seeing your photos in this month's competition.

This is the fourth month of photos for the 2019 calendar. Maybe your photo will figure there!

Enjoy yourselves!  :)

  • QE2 started a dream to go to sea - now a reality!
Particularly great QE2 topic!
First sailed on QE2 in August 2003 aged 6 years old. Last sailed on QE2 in July 2008. Last saw the seagoing QE2 in person from the decks of QM2, on QE2's last Transatlantic crossing (Eastbound tandem) in October 2008. Visited QE2 in her new life, in Dubai, in January 2020 and August 2022.

We are almost half way through December, and we only have a few photos uploaded for the "Behind the Scenes" competition.  Please have a look through your photos and upload three of your favorites.  If you have any trouble uploading the photos, let us know and we can help out.   :)

I found a few suitable ones!

Two are "behind the scenes" and one is "wrong time", i.e. visiting a restaurant in between meal times, when it is theoretically out of bounds...

Mind you, I did ask for permission... (for the latter only)!

Crew members should have lots to submit here :) .

Thanks, Isabelle, for adding your photos !

We still need more photos.  Please look through your photos, especially crew members, and see if we can add more marvelous photos to "Behind the Scenes" !

12 photos now entered, with some fascinating variations.

Have a look -- you may find that you have photos which so far you had not considered for this theme :) .

Photos of places where a normal civilian passenger was not meant to be at the time the photo was taken (but of course we did stray behind the scenes at times!). Crew members must have lots of photos to offer here :) .

I remember Upper Deck was a minefield for this, Isabelle, particularly as a youngster (Casino etc.). Anyway back to topic!

I so do not have any photos ,  way back in the day it was a so so digital camera , nowadays phones have bigger memories than the laptop I'm using to post this reply, so, back in the day you were careful with what you shot,    ARRGGHHH. Even then one didn't dare to be caught out behind the scenes :'(

I remember running out of space often with my digital camera my Dad passed on to me in 2004 after getting a DSLR, it has 3 - 16MB SD cards compared to the GBs of storage you get these days. Furthermore I remember and still keep some floppy disks (1MB of storage or so lol). This is partly why my times/experiences in most behind the scenes places are not photographed and are just memories. I had to consciously leave space for the few bridge photos I took in July 2008 for example, and I'm an avid snapper lol so the limited capacity was annoying.

We still need some more photos of "Behind the Scenes" for the December Poll.  While most crew were too busy working to take photos, please look through your photos and see if there are indeed some there that may have been forgotten but would be ideal for this competition.   :)

We now have 21 photos uploaded to the competition, but it would be good to see some more behind the scenes pictures, especially from crew members.   :)

This Album will still be open for one more day. We seem to have fewer photos this month than during other months. It would be great if we could add a few more to make the poll more interesting!
