Do you think the room was always like that, or was it as a result to modifications to the ship over the years?

I suspect it was all original to the ship.  It's possible the pantry was installed in a later refit though, but I just don't know.

Ha ha....   I think I related the story somewhere in the forum, years ago....  I should try to find it.

Mindyou 3006 being near a crew entrance you did get used with the thud as the door into crew country slammed shut.

Yes, I remember that.  By the time I had 3006 I was deeply besotted with QE2 and all her charms and quirks.   Boy, the first time she dropped anchor when I was in 3006....   Woohoooo!!!!  What a wake-up call!!

Two weeks to the Med in a deck 4 aft inside cabin was great - you were on the greatest ship in the world, but the vibration especially when docking was incredible. All good fun, I do miss the creeks of the furniture on the new Cunarders but you do sleep better.
