This is an amazing video of QE2 in rough seas and very impressive to hear the voice of Captain Woodall.

Was on this crossing.  We sailed from Boston knowing there was a major storm due, we sailed out as others were making their way to shelter.  We pitched and tossed for 6 days, resulting in (for then,  possibly still?) record radio traffic generated as a result of the extra day at sea, a fortune in crockery damage, a large portion of the crew sick as well as passengers, there was damage to one of the shell doors due to a large wave.  A very tiring experience but one that I am happy to say that I was there!

That sounds like an extraordinary adventure to have been involved in! The strength of the powerful ship on her very own favourite patch of sea.

What did the Powers That Be say : Should QE2 have taken shelter and avoided the damage and repairs? Or was she right to boast about yet another storm weathered and passengers brought ashore only a day late?

Would you be able to put a date on this crossing (for our QE2 Timeline)?

Just watched this video again, its absolutely tremendous.

Wish we had further information on this crossing on the forum, we probably do in fact, its just a matter of joining the topics up if we can find them!
