Amazing shots !! l did always wonder how it looked at the pointed end... Did you venture underneath a look..
I was kinda half expecting to see you hanging off the end doing a Kate with the arms and legs spread everywhere.. ;)
From the moment you first glimpsed the Queen,
you just knew you were in for a very special time ahead.!

Wow! They are amazing!  :o
Here's hoping there are many more previously unseen parts and views from different angles that you are willing to share....?

PS Hope you had a suitable Leonardo / Kate to share the moment with and your version didn't end in an iceberg induced tragedy  ;D

But the best bit was popping your head out of the porthole...

"...the porthole" -- now I won't be able to rest until I work out which one that was!

Could you show it on an exterior photograph?

What an amazing view! Presumably you were not going very fast...?

We were motoring across the bay of Biscay at the time at a fair old speed. The foredeck was extremely windy when we walked across it. The porthole was below and a foot or so away to the left of the 'Q' in the name when on the starboard side.

To see the 'bit beneath the bow' -
previously experienced only from the  'bit beneath the bridge'...
That's fantastic!  Thank you.

Including The Cat's Whiskers!!

Could you show it on an exterior photograph?

on starboard - could it be forward of the 2?
Or perhaps a bit lower down, nearer to the bow?

Those are big 'holes' ( her upper nostrils!) above the third anchor 'panel' - did you get to see them too?!

Michael, have a look at this pic from Boston in September 2008, to see whether I located the right porthole (if you slide your cursor across the picture, it will be marked with a note leading back here) :

One of the greatest "QE2" moments ever - standing on QE2's bow looking back at her Bridge.

Taken in Fremantle, March 2008.

This is a great topic!
By chance, did anyone take a photo looking astern from the cats whiskers?

Fantastic photos taken from the bow looking back at the bridge.  Thanks for starting this topic Michael and thanks also to Chris who added his photos.

I particularly like the photos taken from the porthole that Michael has posted in reply 4.  Brilliant!
I was proud to be involved with planning QE2's 50 year conference in September 2017 in Clydebank

I am impressed at how little the water is being moved, despite the speed.
