Hi can you tell us more about the job, Were you in charge of the special requests? Which were popular and which were unpopular?
I rememeber on Alan Whickers Fast Boat to China they were showing special requests being made, and the one that stuck out was "Floating Island" and is showed a bunch of grapes being dipped in something and mentions the copius amounts of alcohol used ?
Dare we ask, given the buying power, was it much easier to buy in ready made items rather than make them from hand?
Im thinking of the petit fours etc? what might surprise us that was bought in that we might have expected to be hand made? ie bread rolls? or the afternoon tea delights? etc
