Hello from Hull
« on: Nov 02, 2012, 11:28 AM »
Hi There, My name is Chris Tuck, and I live in Hull, England.

I have joined this forum to try to make contact with anyone that knew or worked with my late uncle, who served as - i believe - first mate for a time on the QE2.

My uncle was Phillip Malcolm Robson, from Hessle (near Hull) and he was possibly my closest family member in my childhood other than my dad.

I am merely seeking information from anyone who knew Phil with the intent on building up more of a background on who he was and what he did in his worklife, as he was often reluctant to tell me the ins and outs (I was only young).

Many thanks to the creators of this forum for giving me the opportunity to ask these questions, as I have contacted Cunard directly and not even received replies.

Thanks again and thanks for welcoming me to your forum :)

Chris

Apologies, I forgot to add that I believe he was crew at some point between the eighties and early nineties. He also sailed on the Princess for a period.

Welcome, Chris! Good to see you here.

I hope you find out some more about your late uncle's life and work on board QE2; you are certainly in the right place to have a good chance of that.

Maybe someone could explain to me (ignoramus that I am) what a First Mate does?

Do you have any memories of QE2 yourself, Chris? Did you ever get the chance to step on board?

Hello Chris

Welcome to the Forum.  I hope that there are some ex crew members in the Forum who remember your Uncle, Phillip Malcolm Robson.  It would be lovely if you could share your recollection of what your Uncle told you about QE2. If you you have been onboard the ship we would love to hear your memories

Have a look at the Officers and Crew Section and maybe post that you are looking for information about your Uncle in the Where are they now (QE2 Officers and Crew) section.

I was proud to be involved with planning QE2's 50 year conference in September 2017 in Clydebank
