The Last Entertainer - Des O'Connor on QE2
« on: Nov 15, 2020, 10:00 AM »
Des O’Connor flew out to Dubai to meet the QE2 as she arrived on her last voyage in November 2008. He boarded and performed in the Grand Lounge and he celebrated the life of the ship and the times he had entertained on board. He was the last celebrity to perform on board.
This morning I am saddened to learn that Des passed away at the age of 88. He is described and remembered as the ‘ultimate entertainer’.

Thanks for posting John.

I'd forgotten about him being on the final voyage.

Do you have a couple of photos handy that you can share?

@Lynda - sounds like a nice thing to mention on the newsletter too.

I've been mooching around the internet and youtube etc. trying to track down any video of Des O'Connor on QE2 - does anyone have one?

Did Cunard do an official video for the final voyage that has anything on it?

Yes Rob, I have photographs and a video clip of his performance; I’ll look them out.

I found one that you've previously added to the gallery, and have added it to your first post on this topic.
